chat moss herbs lovage
Lovage:: Botanical name Levisticum officinale
As its common name suggests, lovage was at one time during the 16th century used as an aphrodisiac - although there is no proof that it actually worked!
The herb is not widely used, which is a great shame, as its strong celery like flavour gives soups and stews a real boost. If you are not keen on the texture or look of celery in salads, use lovage instead. Its soft green leaves not only look pretty, but are full of flavour too!
